Main Street and Riverfront Master Plan

Like many New England towns that developed on the banks of rivers, Tilton evolved to serve as a municipal and an industrial center, built with both manufacturing and public buildings on its Main Street. With contemporary economic and cultural motivators in place, Tilton's Main Street Program and business owners wished to visually enhance the Town's historic retail district and reconnect Main Street with its greatest natural resource-the Winnepesaukee River. The ultimate goal of these improvements is to create a renewed vitality in downtown Tilton. In order to meet all of these goals, Ironwood worked with community leaders and citizens to develop an exciting vision for Main Street and its riverfront. Ironwood also prepared an application on behalf of Tilton for state DOT enhancement funding.
